Akil joined Gulf Consult in 2000 as Senior Architect and Projects Manager, and was appointed as an Associate in 2007. With over 51 years of experience, he has been responsible for several major projects in Kuwait, such as Jumeraih Messilah Beach Hotel and Spa, College of Business Studies, and the New Kuwait International Airport T2.
Before Gulf Consult, Akil worked in the UK with leading architectural consultant firms on a variety of projects throughout Europe. In 1994, he commenced working in Kuwait as Principal Architect and Project Manager for a local consultant office, and successfully completed several projects for the Kuwaiti government, and the private sector in Kuwait, Dubai and China. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects - U.K.
Akil studied Interior Design at the City University, London-UK. He graduated with a degree in Architecture from the University of Greenwich, London-UK., and a M.Sc. in Construction Management and Economics from the Bartlett School of Architecture - University College London-UK.
